A purpose and a disclamier .

I like Greenpeace. They do a lot to enact positive change in our environment. I have no problem with what they are doing to enact this change. Sure it is abrasive and somewhat illegal but that isn't my fight.

This blog is meant to comment on the rude and confrontational manner in which Green Peace goes about recruiting members and collecting donations.

Here is my question to Abigail Smith (Orange County offices senior coordinator), why do recruiters treat citizens on the street like they are the whaling companies or big industry polluters? Why is it that citizens are called ignorant if they simply don't wish to talk to a street recruiter?

Being confrontational and spewing out name-calling to the people that don't want to donate or sign a petition sounds desperate. There are plenty of environmental organizations that receive plenty of donations from common people simply by treating them with respect instead of heckling them on the street. WWF for example has always treated me well, and thus I've donated.

It's time to revamp how Greenpeace does its recruitment Ms. Smith.
