That's Che Guevara, international sign of rebellion and revolution.
He is also directly responsible for the deaths of over 180 people and Fidel Castro's dictatorship in Cuba. He even praised Mao Ze Dong, Communist oppressive dictator of China.
They display the banner as a recruitment technique with hopes of generating interest in Greenpeace. If you wear Che Guevara gear, isn't that considered ignorant? I mean the guy was a violent communist who is partly responsible for the oppression of Cuba and thousands of terrible tattoo's. So using Che Guevara in a Greenpeace banner is ignorant isn't it, Abigail? Ironic. Sad.
